Ron Marklund discusses tips to reduce audit stress at nonprofit conference

There is nothing more anxiety-ridden for a nonprofit accounting department professional than the annual audit of your financial statements and grant compliance audit by an outside auditor.  Ron Marklund, a principal in Dugan & Lopatka’s, Audit & Review Department, will provide tips and techniques to lessen the stress and concerns your team experience with each audit at the Giving DuPage Nonprofit Conference, Friday, September 21, Boback’s Signature Events, in Woodridge, Illinois.

Ron will walk attendees through the new auditing standards and uniform guidance procedures that may result in audit findings and help to identify common problems to avoid.  Ron has overseen hundreds of audits throughout his career.  In fact, he specializes in assisting churches, religious organizations, trade associations, foundations, social services (homeless organizations, developmental disability centers, domestic violence shelters, and others), and private schools.  This includes overseeing Single Audits, Government Auditing Standards audits, and State of Illinois year end reporting.  Ron is a CPA and graduate of Olivet Nazarene University.
